What are the responsibilities and job description for the Traffic Technician (Sign Installation) position at City of St. Petersburg?
This is specialized work involving the installation, maintenance and repair of traffic control signs and the installation and maintenance of pavement markings. Work involves interpretation of road construction drawings and the accurate placement of traffic control signs and pavement markings in accordance with the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices. Work may also involve lead supervision. Duties are performed usually under heavy traffic conditions, occasionally in inclement weather, and always in compliance with appropriate safety precautions.
Salary: $21.52 - $30.58 Hourly

To Qualify
Minimum Qualifications. Applicants must:
- Possess a valid high school diploma or GED equivalency.
- Possess and maintain a valid Driver License.
- Possess some experience in pavement marking and/or sign installation.
- Be able to understand and effectively carry out oral and written instructions.
- Acknowledge this position is designated as Emergency Critical (EC) and if hired into the position, you must be immediately available to the department before, during, and after a declared emergency and/or disaster.
Desirable Qualifications: Preferred applicants:
- Have some supervisory experience.
- Possess and maintain a valid State of Florida Class "B" Commercial Driver License (CDL).
