What are the responsibilities and job description for the CONSTRUCTION BUILDING INSPECTOR position at City of Stamford, CT?
DUTIES: Under the general supervision of the Building Official or designee, performs specialized inspection work of ordinary responsibility in connection with regulation building construction or alterations for compliance with building regulations; does related work as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Graduation from an accredited high school and seven (7) years progressively experience in construction, design or inspections of buildings as a supervisor or contractor.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENT: At time of application and appointment, possession of a valid Connecticut Motor Vehicle Operator’s License. Within twelve (12) months of appointment, must obtain a State of Connecticut Assistant Building Official (ABO) Certification.
SCOPE OF EXAMINATION: There will not be a written examination. There will be an application supplement No. 25-07. Applicants will be ranked according to their education, training and experience. Applicants are advised to fully complete the application form and supplement, listing all related degrees, training and work experience.
