The City of Steamboat Springs has a fun full-time summer seasonal opportunity starting late May through mid-August as a Summer Youth Counselor! Counselors are responsible for supervising and leading children ages 5-12 years old during all activities and field trips. The Senior Youth Counselor will also be responsible for transporting children in a 15-passenger van. Interact with children, parents, and other staff members. This position has the potential for further employment during the school year.
In addition to hourly rate of pay, you will be compensated with a one-time bonus in the amount of up to $2/hr. for every hour worked if you complete the summer season. Bonus to be paid after the end of the summer.
Limited subsidized housing with be available for seasonal positions.
Serves as an ambassador of the City of Steamboat Springs and upholds City values of Service, Teamwork, Integrity, Well-being, Respect and Compassion, while espousing safety at all times.
We are looking for leaders that have a genuine love for children, who are kind and patient, and who show a love for the outdoors. This job entails working with a small group of children within our summer camps and making sure that kids are adequately prepared for the day. The job includes planning activities, ensuring safety of participants, transporting children in a 15-passenger van, and providing a fun and exciting environment for all children to thrive and learn. Camp operates Monday – Thursday, from 8:00am-5:30pm and some Friday’s. |
Must be 20 years or older and have a minimum of 480 hours working with children. This individual must have patience, energy, a passion for working with children and willing to drive a 15-passenger van!
