This position plays a vital role in our Finance Department, providing essential customer service while processing payments, managing transactions, and assisting with general clerical duties. What You'll Be Doing
Serve as the main point of contact at our drive-up window—receiving utility and other City payments with professionalism and a smile
Accurately process payments by cash, check, or other approved methods, and issue receipts
Balance and record transactions at the end of each shift
Perform a variety of support tasks, including filing, answering phones, opening mail, and processing invoices
Create water service orders (meter checks, turn-ons/offs, leak notices)
Assist with permits, licenses, and purchase orders
Enter and manage data using spreadsheets, word processing, and accounting systems
Maintain confidentiality, follow policies and safety procedures, and support special projects as needed

Qualifications
Education: High School diploma or GED
Experience: At least two (2) years of experience in customer service, accounts receivable/payable, or cash handling
Skills: Strong math, data entry, and customer service skills
License: Must hold and maintain a valid Colorado driver’s license
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. and carry objects up to 10 lbs.
Must be able to sit, stand, and move around an office environment
Must be able to operate a computer and other office equipment
Visual and auditory skills required for accurate data entry and customer interaction
Work Environment
Office setting with frequent interaction with the public
Primary work at a multi-station front office area with limited privacy
Standard weekday schedule with occasional interruptions
