What are the responsibilities and job description for the REC - Scorekeeper position at City of Sun Prairie?
Dates needed: May – August with 1-2 evening trainings in April.
Hours: Games are Tuesdays and Thursdays 6pm - 10pm depending upon registration.
Start: $9.00-$10.00/hr.
Major Duties/Essential Functions
- Operates the electronic scoreboard with a controller in the score booth
- Keeps an accurate game report form
- Watches the games assigned attentively as not to miss any calls/runs/strikes/fouls/etc.
- Listen, respond and answer questions and concerns of umpires, supervisors and team managers
- Report scores to the Recreation Coordinator
- Notify On-Site Coordinator of problems and concerns regarding facilities, equipment, players and/or spectators
- Get out and set up equipment needed
- Take down and put away equipment in the appropriate location at the end of each sport session(s)
- Clean up score booth before departing and check out with the On-Site Lead/Umpires
- Provide clear communication to and from the Umpires, On-Site Coordinators, the office and participants
- Assist in management of any problems or emergency situation that may arise while at the program as assigned by the On-Site Coordinator (i.e. safety, first aid, weather cancelations, upset participant, illegal players, etc.)
- Attends all required meetings and trainings
- Other duties as assigned
