Deputy Public Works Director

The City of Sunnyside currently has an opening for the position of Deputy Public Works Director. The position is responsible for performing tasks related to the administrative and supervisor work in organizing, directing, and supervising the Public Works Department personnel. Examples of job duties may include the following:

• Oversees the functions of the Public Works Department through a reporting structure within the Public Works Divisions to delegate, manage, support and supervise the Operations and Maintenance of each division.
• Coordinates operations and maintenance activities with other City departments and divisions.
• Collaborates with the Public Works Director and Division Supervisors to develop department and division budgets.

• Bachelor's Degree in Public Administration, Civil Engineering or related field.
• Five (5) years of experience in construction management, municipal operations/maintenance or related field.
• Or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the skills necessary to effectively perform the duties of the job.
