Our facility features a 50-meter pool designed for competitive swim teams and meets, a 6-lane warm-up pool, and a beach-entry recreation pool. SUMMARY
Incumbents provide skilled professional recreation programming for a geographic area, several specialty fields, or a major facility. Assignment may include providing Citywide programming in several specialty fields such as special events, aquatics, special interest classes, adaptive, youth and adult sports, tennis, youth, and teens. Incumbents develop and coordinate a variety of Citywide classes, programs, and events for citizens of all ages; coordinate, implement, maintain, and evaluate programs; and may oversee facility operations. Responsibilities include preparing and coordinating the master schedule; staffing specific programs, including the recruitment of instructors and officials; and supervising part time staff and volunteers. Incumbents also perform administrative duties such as compiling data, maintaining program budget, preparing reports, soliciting bids, and providing quality customer service. Incumbent will assist with CAPRA re-accreditation for the department and must have knowledge and understanding of the 154 national standards, research and gather information, work with employees of the department, write creatively and report findings.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's Degree in Recreation or a related field, and three years related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed in the job description.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must have at the time of hire and be able to maintain a valid Arizona Driver License. Positions that work in licensed programs require certification in Community Infant, Child, Adult CPR, and First Aid within six months of hire.
