What are the responsibilities and job description for the RECREATION LEADER III - SPECIAL EVENTS position at City of Surprise, AZ?
SUMMARY
Incumbents plan, implement, and coordinates programs and special events, supervise facilities or specific programs or activities, and are responsible for customer services, problem solving, leading programs or activities. Incumbents also delegate duties to Recreation Leader I and may register and take payment from participants if needed.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or GED, and six months of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job listed above. Additional education cannot be substituted for experience.
Must be 18 years of age or older. Positions functioning within a state licensed program require a minimum age of 21. These state licensed programs are Tot Time and Break Camps (Fall, Thanksgiving, Winter, Spring and Summer Camp).
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must have at the time of hire and be able to maintain a valid Arizona Driver License. Must obtain CPR and First Aid certifications within the first 90 days of employment.
State licensed programs must provide proof of CPR Certification Card and First Aid Certification Card within one month of hire date. Must provide proof of having applied for a Fingerprint Clearance Card (FCC) from the Arizona Department of Public Safety within one month of hire date, and proof of obtaining the card within two months of hire date. The cost of obtaining an FCC is borne by the employee. A tuberculosis skin test (TB test) is required by the Arizona Department of Health Services. The cost of the TB test is borne by the employee. Results of the TB test must be provided within one month of hire date.
Must keep these certificate current while employed in this position.
