The City of Surprise Parks & Recreation Department is excited to welcome an inspiring and energetic individual to our Aquatic team as we approach the opening of our brand-new Oasis Swim Center, a next-generation facility set to open in May 2025. Our facility features a 50-meter pool designed for competitive swim teams and meets, a 6-lane warm-up pool, and a beach-entry recreation pool. SUMMARY
Incumbents support Pool Manager with managing daily program and facility operations, set up site and equipment, conduct staff training, monitor staff scheduling, assist in scheduling and conducting activities, perform customer service, and compile simple reports. Incumbents are part-time seasonal employees.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be: three months paid experience as an American Red Cross (ARC) Water Safety Instructor and/or Starfish Aquatic Institute (SAI) Starfish Swimming Instructor or six months paid experience in the aquatics field.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must have at time of hire the following American Red Cross (ARC) and/or Starfish Aquatic Institute (SAI) certifications: Lifeguarding, First Aid, and CPR/AED, and Water Safety instructor or Starfish Swimming Instructor. Must have at time of hire and be able to maintain a valid Arizona Driver License.
