What are the responsibilities and job description for the PARKS MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN position at City of Surprise?
SUMMARY
Incumbents perform routine work in the maintenance of the City's sports facilities, parks, and trails. This is accomplished by performing skilled and semi-skilled construction and maintenance duties such as mowing, landscaping, irrigation, and sports fields and general maintenance. Depending on assignment, incumbents may be required to work evenings, holidays, and weekends to support events and tournaments.EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED, and two years of recreation, parks, and sports turf maintenance experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed in the job description. Additional education cannot be substituted for experience
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must have at time of hire and be able to maintain a valid Arizona Driver License. Pesticide/herbicide applicator license is required within six months of hire and must be maintained.
