GENERAL PURPOSE
Performs a variety of routine and complex clerical, technical and administrative work within the City, answering concerns and calls, aiding in animal cruelty investigations and code violations, keeping official records, providing administrative support to the animal and code department as needed, and serving as a back-up to the permit clerk for Inspections when needed.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED
Works under the supervision of the Executive Director of Inspections & Code Enforcement and other supervisors as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performs routine clerical, technical and administrative work;
- receives the public and provides customer assistance;
- answers phone calls
- Answers phone calls for Public Works and forwards complaints/request to correct divisions
- maintains all records for animal control and code enforcement;
- Assists Public Works with administrative duties as needed.
- Assists in animal cruelty and code investigations;
- Assists in document preparation for municipal and civil court;
- Assists with billing and billing updates for health permits;
- Responds to inquiries from employees, citizens, contractors and others and refers, when necessary, to appropriate persons.
- Acts as a back-up to the Permit Clerk when needed;
- Assists the public with permits and inspections and MyGov;
- Other duties as assigned.
DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
- Graduation from high school or GED equivalent and two (2) years clerical, secretarial, or administrative support related experience; or
- Two (2) years of college level coursework and one (1) years clerical, secretarial, or administrative support related experience.
Necessary Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to utilize Microsoft Office products.
- Ability to prepare documents with a high degree of accuracy
- Skilled in record keeping and document management
- Knowledge in managing database software such as MyGov & Laserfiche
- Ability to handle customers in a calm manner
- Skilled in effective time management

Phone, personal computer, copier, scanner, fax machine, calculator, and related technology and software.
