POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
CHILDREN AND TEEN LIBRARIAN
City of The Dalles

This is a full-time, Union eligible position subject to pre-employment background check. Under the direction of the Library Director, incumbent performs a professional Library activities while sharing responsibility for children and teen services. Works in an environment within the library with occasional travel related to community engagement and professional development. This is a full-time position, requiring flexibility in scheduling, as some programs require evening and weekend hours.
QUALIFICATIONS :
any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the applicant with the knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform the job. A typical way to obtain the knowledge, skills and abilities would be :
Education : Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor's degree and at least two years relevant library experience, or any satisfactory combination of education and experience to successfully perform the duties of the job.
Experience : At least 2 years prior experience in youth services. Experience includes reading, viewing and learning habits of youth; and, experience in youth reader's advisory and reference; and, experience with technology and social media.
Training : Keyboarding, computer / technology, and social media.
Compensation :
The current wage range for this position is from $26.18 to $31.26 per hour.
