Education and Experience - An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered.
Education: Associate's degree in Recreation Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, Public Administration, Social Work, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 4 years previous relevant work experience is required in community engagement, recreation programming, facility management, or hospitality.
Certifications: Recommended to have the following: Food Handling, First Aid, CPR, Food Protection Manager, Certified Parks Rrecreational Professional (CPRP), Facility Management Certification (CFM), AED, Event Planning or Hospitality Certification
Licensing: Valid Texas Drivers License
Community Center Coordinator functions include but are not limited to the following:
- Planning and Supervision: Assist in the development, planning, coordination, and supervision of a wide range of indoor recreation activities. Lead and facilitate classes, workshops, and community trips for diverse age groups and special populations. Collaborate with local organizations and businesses to expand program offerings and community engagement. Work with the Community Center Manager to evaluate program effectiveness and implement improvements.
- Operational Management: Oversee daily operations of the community center, ensuring smooth and efficient use of the facility. Coordinate room rentals and event logistics, including setup, breakdown, and compliance with safety regulations. Supervise and schedule Community Center Attendants, ensuring adequate coverage and performance. Assist with facility maintenance coordination, custodial services, and minor landscaping needs. Ensure compliance with city, county, and state regulations regarding health, safety, and facility operations.
- Financial Transactions Management: Oversee rental agreements, ensuring timely processing of payments, deposits, and late fees. Serve as the primary point of contact for renters regarding contracts, policies, and payment issues. Maintain accurate financial records and assist with budgeting and expense tracking. Address and resolve contract disputes or customer concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Record Keeping and Communication: Maintain detailed program records, contracts, and financial transactions for auditing and reporting. Assist in preparing reports, correspondence, and policy documentation. Ensure accurate filing and organization of community center documents. Engage with residents, organizations, and stakeholders to promote events and programs. Maintain community center bulletin boards, newsletters, and digital communication channels. Assist in marketing efforts, including social media updates and event promotion. Represent the City of Tomball at community meetings, outreach programs, and local events.
- Meal Preparation and Management: Plan, prepare, and serve nutritious meals for large groups in compliance with health codes. Manage inventory and purchasing for meal-related supplies and ingredients. Maintain kitchen health standards and obtain all necessary food service certifications.

- Hiring range - $46,093 - $48,402 ($22.16 - $23.27)
