The City of Tomball is accepting applications for lifeguards for the 2025 summer season. This position is dedicated to guaranteeing the safety of all pool patrons. Through proactive monitoring, understanding, and enforcing pool regulations, and providing immediate response to emergencies, they ensure a secure and enjoyable aquatic environment for all visitors.
Education and Experience - An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered. |
Education HS_GED desired, but not required.
Experience No previous relevant work experience is required for Lifeguards. Head Lifeguards require prior experience as a Lifeguard.
Certifications Lifeguard certification class must be completed during training.
Training
Jerry Matheson Park Pool & Splash Pad
May 3rd, 2025 7:30am - 8:00 PM - Saturday and
May 4th, 2025 7:30am - 8:00 PM - Sunday
Both days of training are required and attendance is a condition of employment.

Dedicated to guaranteeing the safety of all pool patrons. Through proactive monitoring, understanding, and enforcing pool regulations, and providing immediate response to emergencies, they ensure a secure and enjoyable aquatic environment for all visitors.
Lifeguard functions include but are not limited to the following.
- Patron Safety: Monitor the pool area continually to ensure the safety of all patrons. Recognize potential hazardous situations and take preventative measures.
- Emergency Response: Respond swiftly and efficiently to any emergencies, administering first aid or CPR if needed. Assist and collaborate with other emergency services personnel when necessary.
- Rule Enforcement: Maintain a comprehensive understanding of pool rules, regulations, and operational procedures. Enforce these rules diplomatically and consistently, ensuring that all patrons adhere to safety protocols.
- Customer Service: Address any questions or concerns from pool patrons in a polite and informed manner. Provide guidance on safe pool practices and general pool information when required.
- Routine Maintenance: Assist with regular pool maintenance tasks, such as checking the pH level or cleaning, as directed by the Pool Manager. Ensure that all lifeguarding equipment is in good condition and readily accessible.
- Training and Development: Participate in regular training sessions to enhance rescue techniques, first aid application, and other related skills. Stay updated with the latest safety regulations and standards in the aquatic industry.
- Contribute to the team effort by performing other related duties as assigned.
- Head Lifeguards are responsible for completing a variety of forms and logs including timesheets, chemical sheets, equipment transfers and schedules.

SALARY:
- Lifeguards - $15.00 per hour.
- Head Lifeguards - $16.00 per hour.
