About the Role:
This key position requires a skilled administrator who can oversee the operations of public services, including water, sewage, electric, and sanitation. The ideal candidate will make recommendations to the mayor and other city leaders on various issues, such as budgets, personnel needs, and project costs. They will also ensure the completion of reports and studies commissioned by elected officials, manage and direct municipal operations, and work closely with various city departments and officials.
A strong candidate will possess excellent communication skills, be able to explain complex issues to city government and the public, and have experience working on important economic development projects. They should also be successful at managing relationships among and between diverse stakeholders, including elected officials, community members, colleagues, and other government officials. Additionally, they will represent the city government during social functions and more formal meetings with municipalities and government officials.
The selected candidate will supervise municipal projects, delegate responsibilities to operational managers and city employees, and respond to and resolve questions or concerns from citizens. They will also assume responsibility for general public relations activities, attend public events, and deliver public addresses.
