ABOUT THIS JOB
Position Specific Summary
The Traffic Control Technician position at the City of Tucson's Department of Transportation & Mobility designs, repairs, removes, and installs street signs.
Work is performed under the supervision of the Traffic Engineering Technician Supervisor. This position does not supervise.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Installs and repairs street signs by setting up safety equipment, removes damaged signs and posts. Sets up temporary signs, measures and marks blue stake areas, removes obstructions, and installs new or replaces signs and signposts.
- Fabricates street signs by entering information into the computer. Prints letters and applies sign face to a metal surface. Performs silk-screening, punching, drilling, and sign assembly.
- Enters data into department asset tracking system and Arizona Bluestake system. Retrieve forms and reports from the asset tracking system for dissemination to leadership.
- Performs all other duties and tasks as assigned.
Working Conditions
Work Schedule : Monday-Friday 6 : 00 AM-2 : 30 PM. May be required to work on-call shifts to include nights and weekends.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education : Six (6) months post high school
Work Experience : One (1) year of directly related experience
