ABOUT THIS JOB
Position Specific Summary
The Geographic Information System (GIS) Enterprise Analyst II position at the City of Tucson’s Information Technology Department is responsible for analyzing and maintaining enterprise GIS servers, platforms, applications and databases. This position providing customer service, resolving technical issues, and coordinating projects to ensure smooth GIS operations across various city departments.
Work is performed under the supervision of the Information Technology Manager. This position does not supervise.
Duties and Responsibilities
Analyzes, maintains, and troubleshoots the city's GIS infrastructure, including ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Enterprise, Enterprise Geodatabase, ArcGIS Server installations, and VertiGIS. Designs and implements a scalable and optimized ArcGIS Enterprise infrastructure. Processes and manages public data requests and inquiries in compliance with city policies. Identifies and resolves GIS-related issues to enhance operational effectiveness- .

Working Conditions
Mostly office environment. Occasionally travels to off-site locations as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor's DegreeWork Experience: Two (2) years of directly related experience.
- Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Degree in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Computer Science, Environmental Science, Urban Planning, or a related field.
Experience in:
ArcGIS Enterprise Suite (Portal, Server, Online, Pro), including installing, configuring and maintaining Enterprise servers and services.
Managing large spatial datasets and optimizing database performance.
SQL and spatial databases (SQL Server, PostgreSQL/PostGIS, Oracle Spatial, MySQL).
ArcGIS Monitor.
Automation tools like ModelBuilder, Python (ArcPy), or FME.
Developing and maintaining GIS web applications using APIs such as Esri’s JavaScript API or Leaflet.
Collaborating across teams and work with stakeholders.
Working on GIS projects within an IT department or government setting.
