ABOUT THIS JOB
Position Specific Summary
The Transportation Compliance Program Coordinator position at the City of Tucson’s Department of Transportation & Mobility is responsible for overseeing the Certification Acceptance (CA) program under agreement with the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) within the planning division. This position provides support to project personnel to ensure compliance with various federal, state, and local regulations, including the National Environmental Policy Act.
Work is performed under the supervision of the Transportation Administrator. This position does not supervise.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversees the department’s Certification Acceptance (CA) program, while serving as the primary point of contact with Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) to ensure transportation projects are programmed, designed and constructed in compliance with relevant federal, state, and local regulations- .

Limited in-state travel may be required for ADOT related meetings and training- .

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EducationBachelor's degree
Experience
Three (3) years of directly related experience
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in coordinating programs and projects.
Master’s degree in related field of study preferred.
Experience working with National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) documentation and/or coordination with federal and state agencies in the U.S., including, but not limited to: Federal Highway Administration, Federal Transit Administration, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Services, U.S. Housing and Urban Development, Arizona Department of Transportation, State Historic Preservation Office
Experience with the principles and practices of project development, project design and construction management, with an emphasis on design and construction of transportation projects to include, but not limited to, urban bicycle facilities, street lighting, high intensity activated crosswalks (HAWKS) and roadway improvements
Related professional licenses and certifications.
