What are the responsibilities and job description for the Police Courier (Part-Time) position at City of Tyler?
JOB SUMMARY:
This position reports to the Support Services Division, Police Services Coordinator. Assist the Police Department with daily activities, including transporting vehicles for repair, delivery of department mail, and delivery and pick up of supplies. Able to function with little or no daily supervision.
Deliver vehicles for repair and preventative maintenance.
Deliver department mail and pick up checks.
Pick up supplies at stores and estimates on damaged vehicles.
Assist in equipment inspection and vehicle inventory.
On a daily basis, must be able to stand 10 minutes, walk 20 minutes, and sit 1 hour.
Must be able to lift and carry 15 lbs., climb stairs, and reach for supplies.
Must be able to communicate with the public, employees, and management in person and using a radio or telephone.
Other duties as assigned.
Environmental Factors
The employee will be working both in and outdoors throughout the year and subjected to all types of weather conditions.
Physical Requirements
Some office work will be required with some sitting. Other duties will require significant walking and standing as well as physical capabilities that will allow the incumbent to walk, lift, push, or drag/pull heavy objects, climb stairs or ladders, hear and speak such that verbal communication can occur without visual contact, eyesight to see to operate equipment and judge distances accurately, exhibit manual dexterity for gripping, holding, using tools or equipment
