What are the responsibilities and job description for the Account Clerk II position at City of Virginia Beach?
Job Duties:
ACCOUNT CLERK II duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Audit, prepare, process, receive and manage a high volume of complex accounts payable functions in the City's Oracle Financial Cloud System
- Receive a high volume of goods and services for Park & Landscape Services Division, which utilizes approximately 14 funding sources
- Monitor and track expenditures in Excel
- Maintain up-to-date paper filing system and records
- Prepare and type correspondence
- Serve as main backup to Customer Service and Support Center answering phones and inquiries
- Organizational skills to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to laws, policies, and division standards and processes
- Assist with periodic audits of storeroom to ensure compliance with division and city policies and procedures
- Experience with Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Furnish information and problem solve with other City departments, vendors, and the general public in a professional and amicable manner
- May attend and take meeting minutes

Minimum Requirements:
MINIMUMS:
High school or GED plus two (2) years experience in fields providing the required knowledge, skills and abilities, such as clerical accounting or bookkeeping; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
All employees may be expected to work hours in excess of their normally scheduled hours in response to short-term department needs and/or City-wide emergencies.
May require a passing score of 30 words per minute on a typing test.

Preferences:

Special Instructions:
This is an Alpha I position which requires reporting to work during periods of emergency or inclement weather, regardless of the City's operational status.
