Job duties for the Account Clerk II include the following:
· Join the team that oversees the public facing operation of the Business Center at the Virginia Beach Convention Center, which provides extensive customer service to external and internal customers, diverse information; operation of point of sale and ticketing systems; maintain retail merchandise inventory; reconcile monthly commissions for in-house vendors and sales tax.
Schedule part-time ticket sellers and box office supervisors to ensure adequate coverage for ticketed events.
Process financial transactions in Point of Sale, Event Business Management System (EBMS) and multiple ticketing systems to include retail sales, exhibitors services, selling tickets; balance cash drawer, prepare deposits and submit daily financial reports; audit daily revenue collections, deposit slips and cash balance reports for accuracy; detect and correct errors for accurate record keeping.
Accumulate and audit event data used in preparation of event, event settlement and invoicing.
Provide information to other city departments, clients and the general public to ensure that matters pertaining to accounting records are properly relayed.
Perform a variety of other box office, retail center, exhibitor services and other accounting functions as assigned.
Some night, weekend and holiday work required.
Positions within this class have been designated as Alpha I positions requiring employees to work during inclement weather, regardless of the city’s operational status.
Must complete training and obtain certification in First Aid/CPR/AED; Integrity Connection Ethics Training for Members, Inclusion and Diversity, and Trained Crowd Manager by the end of the probationary period. Certifications must be maintained for the duration of employment in this classification.
