The City of Virginia Beach Department of Human Services seeks a Clinician II who serves as a Recreation/Activity Coordinator and a QDDP for the West Neck ICF Unit in the Developmental Services Division. The ideal candidate will have at least three years’ experience working in a residential setting with the ID/DD population and be QDDP certified with the VA Board of Licensing.

Duties:
- Responsible for performing recreation/leisure activities and developing appropriate recommendations to address the individual person-centered plans.
- As QDDP, conduct a comprehensive functional assessment, identifying all specific developmental strengths and needs, behavioral management needs, and the need for services regardless of availability.
- Oversee the planning, organization, implementation, and evaluation of specialized programs and leisure activities, both within the facility and the community.
- Provide continuous monitoring of each client’s progress, making modifications to the IPP whenever needed and reviewing the plan at least every 90 days.
- Ensure that services provided by each discipline on the individual’s team are integrated within the home as well as the day program.
- Work closely with the inter-disciplinary team to ensure that all services in areas, such as active treatment, behavioral and medical, are completed according to procedures and in compliance with State Licensure and ICF/IID Regulations.
- Participate in the interdisciplinary team, gather appropriate information, and assist with developing goals and objectives that can be consistently implemented by both day and residential programs.
- Monitor all services delivered to ICF/IID clients to ensure consistency of service, regardless of environment, and implement changes as needed.
- Maintain communication with clients, advocates, guardians, and interdisciplinary team members.
- Maintain current certification in CPR / First Aid, Medication Assistance, Therapeutic Options, and Defensive Driving.

Hiring bonuses shall only be for new hires of original employment or reemployment as defined in Human Resources Policy No. 5.0.
- $1,000 will be awarded in the first paycheck.
- $1,250 will be awarded upon completion of the six (6) month interim performance evaluation with an overall rating of “Meets Expectations”.
- $1,750 will be awarded upon completion of the employee’s one (1) year probationary period and a performance evaluation with an overall rating of “Meets Expectations”.
