THE CITY OF WACO SEEKS:
A Parks & Recreation professional with expertise in managing Recreation and Facilities programs under general supervision. Responsible for directing staff, leading division planning and asset management, overseeing projects, managing division development and inventory, developing financial strategies for departmental growth and enhancement, and maintaining relationships with governmental agencies.
Minimum Qualifications:
REQUIRED:
Bachelor's Degree in Parks and Recreation, Business or Public Administration, or a related field and,
5 years Parks and Recreation, Municipal or program/project management experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Texas Driver's License upon hire.
Position Overview:
• Oversees aquatics personnel and operations; directs recreation staff, community facilities and sports venue operations; manages childcare operations and ensures standard compliance; promotes and manages recreation programs; evaluates community needs and develops new recreation programs, and program enhancements to meet the needs of the community.
• Assures safety protocol and procedures of recreational facilities, program participants, and childcare
operations.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
• Complies with all policies and standards.
• Supports the relationship between the City of Waco and the general public by demonstrating courteous and
cooperative behavior when interacting with residents, visitors, and City staff; maintains confidentiality of
work-related issues and City information.
