Pay: $ 16.75 an hour
We are looking to fill a Part-time Public Works Worker position. This position is a year around position and will work 40 hours a week for 25 weeks of the year and 14 hours per week for the other 27 weeks of the year. Duties include working in the Parks Department supporting our full-time Public Works Technicians.
Work may consist of mowing and trimming grass, spraying weeds, picking up brush and debris, trimming trees, plants and shrubs, installing landscaping in the summer. In the winter months perform snow and ice control. As needed, this position will help with repairs of buildings, repair streets, drainage, storm and sanitary sewer systems, lighting and repair projects, operating small hand tools to upkeep buildings, parks and park facilities. This position will also operate a non-commercial truck and use a variety of hand tools and small repair equipment. or vehicle. These positions will be performed 90% of the time outdoors. There will be exposure to heat and inclement weather.
Eligible applicants must be 18 years of age or older and have a valid MN drivers license. Helpful would be some experience performing electrical, mechanical, plumbing and carpentry. Physical demands require walking, standing, sitting and the ability to lift 40 pounds occasionally.
