Are you detail-oriented, organized, and ready to make a difference in local government? The City of Washington is looking for an Accounting Specialist II to take charge of accounts receivable operations and support the Finance Department’s success.
What You'll Do:
- Manage accounts receivable tasks: invoices, payments, reports, and collections.
- Handle monthly auto-drafts and track City grants to ensure compliance.
- Maintain capital asset records and assist with budgeting and audits.
- Collaborate with teams to prepare financial reports and ensure record retention compliance.
- Step in as a backup for accounts payable and other departmental needs.
What We’re Looking For:
- Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2–3 years of experience in accounting or a related field.
- Proficiency in computer systems and customer service skills.
- Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of accounting principles and financial software.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.).
- Strong multitasking, problem-solving, and communication abilities.
