Under general supervision, performs various semi-skilled maintenance and unskilled labor work related to the City of Waxahachie Sports Complex or other related areas. Performs a variety of technical tasks relative to assigned areas of responsibility. Performs other duties as assigned.This is a single incumbent position whose duties are performed at the Sports Complex.

The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them if the work is related or a logical assignment to this class.Perform various tasks to assist the maintenance staff in keeping the sports complex area, ground and facility clean by picking up and performing proper disposal of trash, recyclables, and compostable debris. Perform custodial work, including the cleaning of restrooms. Operate various equipment on a nightly basis including scoreboard panels and field lights. Ensure all gate entrances are locked and secure at the end of the night. Adhere to safe work practices and procedures.Provides outstanding customer service and ability to defuse situations that may occur. Performs other duties as assigned. Knowledge of: Operations, services, and activities of the Sports Complex.Pertinent Federal, State and local laws, codes, and regulations.Operations, services, and activities of the city.English usage, spelling, grammar, and punctuation.Operational characteristics of various equipment at the Sports Complex.Occupational hazards and standard safety practices.Ability to: Operate equipment in a safe and effective manner.Work outdoors and in inclement weather conditions.Interpret and apply Federal, State and local policies, laws, and regulations.Understand and follow oral and written instructions.Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
