What are the responsibilities and job description for the Police Communications Dispatcher position at City of Waynesville?
We are seeking experienced Police Dispatchers to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for taking non-emergency calls, dispatching police personnel and utility infrastructure support, and providing assistance to callers in distress. This position requires excellent communication and organizational skills, as well as the ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations. The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar role and a strong understanding of police protocols.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor and respond to non-emergency calls.
- Dispatch appropriate personnel and equipment to scenes.
- Maintain contact with personnel on scene.
- Record and maintain accurate records of all calls.
- Provide support to callers in distress.
- Maintain contact with other departments and services personnel.
- Keep abreast of current events and changes in dispatch procedures.
