Job Announcement:
The City of Webster Public Works Department is accepting applications for the position of Assistant Director of Public Works - Utilities. The purpose of this position is to oversee the operations of the Public Works Department, including the Water, Wastewater and Drainage Divisions. This is accomplished by setting performance and work activity goals for the department, staffing the department with employees when needed, coordinating work activities among the divisions, assigning work to be completed, and conducting performance evaluations. Other duties may include interfacing with other City employees and citizens. This position provides direction to other employees.
Minimum Qualifications:
Work requires knowledge of a specific vocational, administrative, or technical nature which may be obtained with a minimum of five years' increasingly responsible experience; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
- Valid Texas Class "C" Driver's License
- Preferred "A" Water and Wastewater Operator Licenses from TCEQ, or ability to obtain within 3 years.
- Preferred Certified Public Works Professional from APWA, or ability to obtain within 3 years.
Special Requirements:
This is an Essential Services position, and the employee will be required to provide services in the course and scope of employment for the benefit of the general public during emergency situations that threaten the safety of Webster's citizens per the City's Emergency Services Guidelines.
