Position Title: Lifeguard
Department: Parks and Recreation
Works under the direct supervision of the Pool and Waterfront Coordinator or his/her designees. Responsible for ensuring the safety of the facility patrons by preventing and responding to emergencies.
Knowledge and Skills
- Thorough knowledge and application of lifeguard surveillance and rescue techniques.
- An understanding of facility policies, procedures and rules.
- Leadership qualities and public relations skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Considerable ability in following directions, establishing working relationships, and working independently.
Responsibilities
- Enforce ALL Aquatic facility policies, rules and regulations.
- Recognize and respond effectively to emergencies.
- Inspect the aquatic facility on a daily schedule and report unsafe conditions and equipment to the supervisor.
- Complete ACCURATE records and reports.
- Participate in in-service training.
- Complete additional duties as assigned by supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications
- Up-To-Date American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification
- American Red Cross CPR, AED & First Aid for the Professional Rescuer
Other
- Available from Memorial Day Weekend – Labor Day Weekend.
- Must also be available to work weekdays & weekends.
Salary
- $18.00 Pool - per hour (16 Year Old)
- $20.00 Waterfront Lifeguard
