What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounting Specialist - Accounts Payable position at City of Westminster?
We’re seeking a skilled accounts payable professional who embraces new technology and also enjoys interfacing with the public, for an in-person position working 8 am – 4:30 pm, Monday – Friday. As the ideal candidate for this role, you will be passionate about accuracy and view customer service (both internal and external) as a top priority.
In this role, you will be a core member of the Finance team, ensuring the integrity of the accounting records for accounts payable, purchase and gasoline cards and special assessments. You will independently manage the full accounting cycle for these areas with the oversight of the Director of Finance. Your evaluation of and recommendations to improve processes for these areas is encouraged.
You will showcase your technical skills as the designated “super user” for the accounts payable and special assessments modules as the City begins an upgrade to its new accounting system beginning in the next few months. This will be an exciting opportunity to evaluate and aid in decision-making for these modules.

The Education and Experience required that will help you succeed in this role includes
· High School diploma or General Equivalency Diploma GED.
· Two (2) years of related accounts payable and bookkeeping experience; or
· Equivalent combination of education, training, and related experience.

- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other staff, successfully communicate with other staff members and members of the public and work as a cohesive and collaborative team member.

Annual Pay Range: $40,283.30 - $52,938.59, DOQ
