Responsible for Guest Service area while on duty including program registration, point of sale, telephones and facility pass sales; maintain discipline in immediate front desk and lobby areas as applicable.
Perform public relations and may be assigned to work other control areas.
Responsible for cash register control and explaining policies and procedures accurately to participants including conflict resolution; assist in maintaining facilities in a clean, neat, safe manner.
Performs other duties as assigned.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES:
Responsible for securing substitutes in their absence
Perform related work as required and assigned
Supervision Received:
Works under the general supervision of the Facility Coordinator or assigned Recreation Supervisor
Supervision Exercised:
None.
Knowledge – Basic knowledge of arithmetic and spelling.
Skills - Demonstrated skill in the operation of equipment and program software necessary to perform the functions of the job.
Abilities - Work in a highly visible work environment; interact with customers of varying ages; learn office procedures; deal tactfully and pleasantly with the public and other team members; operate a cash register and office equipment; handle money, make simple mathematical calculations; prioritize multiple requests for service; maintain positive public relations; function independently with minimal supervision; work weekends/evenings and holidays.
Education and/or Experience:
Training – High School diploma or equivalent.
Experience - Some computer knowledge/experience; experience in customer service preferred
Or
Any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides evidence that the applicant possesses the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
Independence of Action:
Work is performed in accordance with established procedures and well-defined standard practices requiring some authority to select which methods are applicable in any given situation. Virtually all work is reviewed regularly while in progress and upon completion for accuracy and quality. Matters not specifically covered in operating instructions are reviewed with the Facility Coordinator and/or Supervisor.

This position requires repetitive motion and multi-tasking. Must have ability to focus on close work, use hands to fingers, bend, crouch or stoop, reach, and move objects weighing up to 25 lbs. Work requires intermittent sitting, standing, and walking.
Working Environment:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Work may be performed indoors or outdoors and thus dependent on the location, the incumbent may be exposed to hot, wet, and humid environment and all types of weather. Work will include handling money and making correct change. Depending on location, noise and interruptions prevail.

Strong written and verbal communication skills are necessary with the ability to express ideas and facts along with following directions. Listens to others and facilitates an open exchange of ideas. Maintain strong working relationships with all internal and external customers. Requires a great deal of contact with the general public and ability to make sound judgement decisions pertaining day to day problems.

Equipment Used:
The ability to properly operate or use the following equipment is necessary for this position: computer cash register, calculator, multi-line phone, copier, charge card machine, and other office equipment.Must be a minimum of 18 years of age; American Red Cross or American Heart Association CPR, AED and First Aid certifications are required within 45 days of hire at your own expense.
