CURRENTLY THIS POSITION IS ONLY OPEN TO EMPLOYEES CURRENTLY WORKING IN THE UTILITY COLLECTIONS DEPARTMENT.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION:
The purpose of this position is to provide moderately complex customer service and assistance to citizens requesting information on their water utilities. This is accomplished by processing daily account reconciliations, answering the phone or assisting walk-in customers, recording and processing payments, creating bank deposits, researching misapplied/unapplied payments, ordering equipment, creating daily reports, finalizing work orders for service, processing deposit refunds, creating new tap, and Fire Hydrant accounts. Other duties include setting up accounts, overseeing and maintaining the assigned area, and assisting with special functions or department operations. Working with other departments to fulfill the needs and strategic goals of The City of Wichita Falls.

# Code Essential Functions
1 L Regular and reliable attendance in compliance with given schedules is a mandatory requirement of this position. Schedules may be subject to change with or without advance notice
2 S Assists managers in daily operations by supervising staff, training personnel, maintaining equipment and supply inventories and interacting with vendors; serves as back-up to all other office positions.
3 S Processes information and/or monies received and oversees cashiers entering information into the computer by reviewing and posting transactions, verifying monies received, balancing cash drawers and preparing bank deposits. This position will also monitor all online applications and citizen emails, assist with field questions, and set up payment plans.
4 S This position will liaison with all third-party funding sources, assist with billing, cutoff, and reread reports, and authorize move-ins by verifying lease information.
5 S Answers the phone and provides counter assistance by answering questions and providing information, researching billings or other data, filling in for supervisor as needed, and assisting other departments.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Experience-Related Requirements Over two years and up to and including four years.
Vocational/ Educational Preparation Requires High School graduation or GED equivalent.
