**Employees within the department of division shall be given first consideration**• Update Stormwater Equivalent Residential Unit (ERU) records and utilize the ArcView database.
• Prepare and complete work order Request for Services documents.
• Complete Flood Determinations.
• Update Stormwater Utility webpage.
• Update Offsite BMP Billing in billing software application.
• This position is the secretary for the SWAB (Stormwater Advisory Board) and as such will coordinate meeting logistics, draft meeting agendas and minutes, and correspond with SWAB member.
• Draft correspondence letters to the public.
• Perform inspections, evaluations, and data collection in the field.
• Develop, update, and maintain information databases.
• Gather and compile data related to inventory.
• Maintain program and project records.
• Monitor information for accuracy and quality control purposes.
• Assist with the preparation of presentations to professional and lay groups.
• Check engineering records and calculations.
• Assist with complaint management activities.
• Completion of work assignments will require the operation of a vehicle.

• The City of Wichita reserves the right to assign additional responsibilities as needed.• Ability to perform routine calculations and use mathematics rapidly.
• Ability to effectively organize and work as a self-starter with a small amount of oversite.
• Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with associates, employees of other departments, representatives of other organizations, City officials, and the public.
• Ability to plan and participate in Stormwater Quality Education activities.
• Ability to use a computer to access, interpret, and record information.
• Ability to develop meeting notice flyers.
• Ability to lean and reach as needed to read and interpret plans and documents from a print that may be as large as 36 by 48 inches and as small as twenty characters per inch.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Ability to acquire and maintain a Kansas driver’s license.
• An employee shall not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of themselves or others in the workplace
Required Experience and Training
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Two years of sub-professional engineering experience, including assisting with field surveys, construction inspections, technical calculations, data collection, and documentation for stormwater or public infrastructure projects, as well as experience in customer service, technical support, and computer information systems.
- A valid driver's license.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need of a sponsorship.
Preferred Experience and Training
- Graduation from a college with a bachelor’s degree in a science and/or engineering.
- Four years of sub-professional engineering experience, including assisting with field surveys, construction inspections, technical calculations, data collection, and documentation for stormwater or public infrastructure projects, as well as experience in customer service, technical support, and computer information systems.
Offers of employment are contingent upon passing a pre-employment physical, which includes a drug screening, and upon satisfactory evaluation of the results of a criminal record check.
