What are the responsibilities and job description for the Service Manager position at Storm Search?
The Service Manager is an integral part of the aftermarket team and must have communication and organizational skills while also being business savvy and maintaining a strong customer focus. In this role, this individual will oversee the operations of the service department by actively managing work orders, service calls, inspections, warranty work, product improvement programs as well as developing technicians to provide the highest standards of customer service. To be successful, the Service Manager will implement and follow various processes, collaborate with others, recruit and build talent internally, and execute a marketing plan while encouraging teamwork throughout the dealership. This position supervises Service Technicians, Set-up Technicians, Ag Tech Interns, Detail Technicians, Maintenance Technicians, Foremen, and Service Admin Personnel.
Day-to-Day:
- Maintain effective service department processes to ensure internal and external customer satisfaction.
- Develop and implement a system to prioritize scheduling service work.
- Recruit, hire, develop and retain qualified service personnel.
- Create an annual budget and service department goals in alignment with the organization’s financial and operational objectives.
- Execute service department marketing plan and monitor service department goals to ensure marketing plan objectives are met.
Job Requirements:
- 3 years' experience in service department operations.
- Strong technical background with heavy equipment required.
- Experience in supervision and management.
- Familiar with John Deere and competitive products.
- Basic understanding of financial principles related to Service Department operations.
Salary : $80,000 - $95,000
