Description
THE CITY OF WILDWOOD SPRING BREAK CAMP RUNS FROM MARCH 3-7
Performs supervisory recreation work managing a camp program designed to meet the needs and interests of City residents. Plans and oversees activities, supervises counselors, and handles parents' concerns.
Examples of Duties
Plans, organizes, coordinates, and stimulates interest in the activities associated with a recreation camp program.
Organizes and conducts contests, tournaments, displays, and other group activities.
Ensures the safety and security of children and staff at a facility; maintains safe conditions at a facility.
Supervises the maintenance of assigned camp location.
Acts as a liaison with field trip venues; is responsible for maintaining the safety of children and staff at field trip locations and during transportation to and from field trip locations; serves as public relations liaison to the public; supervises the actions of counselors.
Collects and forwards necessary paperwork to supervisor.
Prepares periodic and special reports.
Other duties as assigned.
Typical Qualifications
High School Diploma preferred
Preferred at least six (6) months of experience in physical education, recreation, camps, volunteerism, or related field.
Valid FL driver's license or ability to obtain one.
Knowledge of recreational activities suitable for all ages and abilities.
Ability to lead and instruct all ages and abilities in recreational activities.
Ability to solve problems and address concerns.
Ability to contribute to the accomplishment of team goals, objectives and activities while maintaining effective working relationships.
Knowledge of standard office computer equipment and software applications.
Ability to work late nights, early mornings, on weekends and holidays.
Ability to follow and demonstrate written and oral instructions
Ability to determine priorities and meet deadlines and objectives.
Good written and oral communication skills and ability to follow written and oral instructions.
Ability to maintain basic records, reports and data collection.
