Position Description
Typical Tasks
- Administer the parking services contract and contractor
- Develop new, revised and long-term parking growth plans
- Responding to parking related media requests
- Assisting with design and functionality of new or upgraded parking facilities and processes
- Preparation and administration of the annual parking enterprise budget
- Manage parking related maintenance and capital projects
- Acts as City liaison for parking related committees
- Provides parking support, expertise and relevant information to elected officials, City Council, City committees and other departments
- Manages, directs and evaluates assigned parking staff
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher learning and five years of parking managerial experience, preferably within the public sector or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in a highly visible, public-facing role with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience supervising employees
- Ability to represent the City with external parties in collaborative and negotiated relationships
- Ability to work nights and weekends
- Ability to communicate and foster a cooperative and professional culture
Supplemental Information
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Exerting up to 20 lbs. occasionally, 10 lbs. frequently, or negligible amounts constantly OR may require walking or standing to a significant degree through parking garages.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
This position generally requires work indoors/office setting. Some outdoor work may be necessary for particular events and walking parking garages.
