Description
The City of Woodburn is seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to play a critical role in maintaining the city's financial integrity and transparency. This position is ideal for a financial professional who enjoys diving deep into fiscal management and supporting municipal operations.
Some of the duties the incumbent will perform include provide key assistance with budget preparation and audit preparation; manage awarded grant contracts including processing of grant reimbursement requests; prepare and analyze a variety of technical and financial reports including quarterly and annual reports, ad hoc reports and/or spreadsheets as needed or requested, and perform professional accounting work in the processing and maintenance of financial data and expenditure controls.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration or closely related field, and two (2) years of experience in financial analysis. Extensive experience in word processing, spreadsheet, and graphic tools. Knowledge of fund accounting and public sector finance experience (preferred). Must pass criminal background check necessary to obtain Criminal Justice Information System clearance and Law Enforcement Data System certification within 30 days of hire. Clearance must be maintained throughout employment. Must pass the pre-employment background check. Knowledge of public administration concepts and theories; principles, programs and practices of analysis and research methodology; principles, practices and methods of municipal budget development and management; and financial/statistical/comparative analysis tools, techniques and formulae and computer software appropriate for sophisticated statistical analysis and data management skills are some of the qualifications that would be expected of the successful candidate.
