What are the responsibilities and job description for the Code Enforcement Worker - Summer Seasonal position at City of Woodstock Illinois?
POSITION SUMMARY and ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
This position is responsible to assist the department in the documentation and processing of applicable codes, ordinances, rules and regulations of the City. This work is performed under the direction of the Building & Zoning Director.
- Investigates complaints regarding minor violations of City codes and property maintenance issues; determines validity of complaints.
- Patrols City to determine presence of violations.
- Photographs nuisance conditions and code violations.
- Documents violations; prepares correspondence to violators or owners of property and advises owners/occupants of actions necessary to correct the violations; follows-up to ensure resolution of complaints.
- Inputs and maintains data collected during investigations in department software.
- Provides assistance to other department field personnel as needed.
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- High School diploma/equivalent.
- A valid motor vehicle operator's license and acceptable driving record for eligibility of City coverage.
PAY RATE
The position is a limited part-time, non-exempt/hourly position with a starting pay rate of $16.54 per hour. No additional benefits with the exception of Accrued Sick Leave - earn 1 hour for every 40 hours worked on a prorated basis and available for use after 100 calendar days of employment.
