Non-Exempt
FAIR LABOR STANDARDS ACT STATUS: Applicable.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High school graduate or GED. Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or two (2) years’ experience in a network systems environment or equivalent. A and Network certification is preferred. Possess a CJIS certification or be able to obtain within three (3) months of hire. Possess and maintain a valid State of Florida Class E driver's license.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: This position is a specialized technology based position that supports the information management needs of all City departments, the Mayor, City Council, and the City Manager. Acts as the consulting liaison between staff, management, and IT personnel. Advise City employees on matters related to hardware and software implementation, strategic planning, and IT development. Install, maintain, and troubleshoot workstation and server software systems. Maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot LAN/WAN network and workstation hardware. Assemble computer system components and configure peripheral computer devices. Implement firmware and software patches and temporary fixes. Provide IT training solutions to end-user hardware and software questions and usage.
EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS: The selected candidate will have a background check completed. Possession and maintenance of a current valid Florida driver license is also required before employment. Tasks completed for this position involve extended periods of standing, walking, sitting, stooping, and reaching above shoulder level.
The compensation package will start at the base salary range and may vary based on the proven abilities of the individual selected. The City of Zephyrhills has an excellent benefit package, which includes medical, dental, life insurance, and Florida Retirement System (FRS).
