What are the responsibilities and job description for the SummerStage Membership Assistant (Seasonal) position at City Parks Foundation?
POSITION SUMMARY
The SummerStage Membership Assistant will join a 13 person fundraising team raising approximately $15 million annually from individual donors, foundations and institutions, corporate sponsors, and government to support our free programs in New York City parks. Reporting to the Manager of Development and Membership, the SummerStage Membership Assistant will support the SummerStage Membership team and play a vital role in seasonally supporting our summer membership responsibilities, focused on our SummerStage festival in Central Park and citywide in neighborhood parks across the five boroughs. This role is an hybrid opportunity to gain experience in the music and events industry with massive New York City exposure, working on-site at SummerStage’s flagship 5,000 person concert venue in Central Park and at select parks in all five boroughs as well as remotely. This exciting position requires live event or high level customer service experience with a proactive and welcoming attitude, strong attention to detail and organizational skills. This position requires availability to work outside on nights and weekends with potential independent travel to the five boroughs.
COMPENSATION: $25 per hour
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist the Manager of Development and Membership at SummerStage concerts (estimated 4-5 events/week with variance) June through September;
- Remotely process a high volume of communications like inquiries and RSVPs with SummerStage members and other VIPs before and during the season;
- Remotely create and send membership acknowledgement letters;
- Maintain digital guest lists and track complimentary guest ticket reservations;
- Process sales for new SummerStage memberships and concert upgrades onsite;
- Manage the on-site Infomational tent including: table set up, communicating event details and membership benefits with guests, and answering questions for all attendees;
- Attend in-person staff orientation and season-end debrief meetings (minimum of 2);
- Additional on-site assistance as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 2 years experience in high volume live events, membership, box office, or related on-site customer service;
- Superb sense of etiquette greeting high level donors and board members;
- Excellent oral and written communication skills;
- Highly organized, strong time management skills, and a positive customer service attitude;
- A calm demeanor with the ability to control a high volume of guests and quickly problem solve while working in a fast-paced concert environment;
- A passion for art & culture and live events;
- Must be available to work evenings and weekends and traveling independently throughout the five boroughs;
- Must have working knowledge of Google Suite Applications;
- Must be able to work using a personal computer equipped with wifi, camera and microphone for video conference calls;
- Bi or multilingual strongly preferred.

Salary : $15
