POSITION SUMMARY: 

 The Estimator provides quotes to customers seeking traffic control services, traffic plan design and rentals products.   This position is vital to growth worker closely with the Business Development and Operations departments.  The Estimator will proactively seek and support new traffic control opportunities by researching upcoming projects and confirming all bidders. The Estimator submits bids to general contractors and sub-contractors based on project specifications.  Experience within the traffic control or construction industry is highly preferred. 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Create quotes and bids for customers based on customer and job requirements
• Generate quotes using custom and basic computer software
• Respond to customer phone calls and emails, providing support on upcoming projects or project questions
• Coordinates and collaborates with multiple departments including Operations, Project Management, Safety, Dispatch and Sales 
• Reviews construction bid boards and plan rooms for contracting and sales opportunities
• Analysis of potential contracting information including job specifications and plans, providing recommendations
• Track bid and sales bid calendar and history
• Attend pre-bid and pre-construction meetings when requested or required
• Attend meetings with contractors, engineers, municipalities and special events when required
• Support ongoing jobs with some project management functions
• Other duties as necessary
   

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE AMAZING:

• 3 years Estimating experience in the traffic control industry, construction or equivalent
• Strong problem-solving, organizational and multi-tasking skills
• Ability to communicate clearly with customers in person, phone and email
• Customer service communication skills
• Good phone and email communication
• Ability to work with various computer systems (Salesforce CRM, Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word), Internet Applications, GOOGLE Earth/maps and others)
• 2 years experience with Microsoft Excel.
• Positive, can-do attitude 
• Ability to work independently and be a self-starter
• Experience reading roadway or traffic control plans, strongly desired
• Bi-lingual a plus but not required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
