Bronx EOC Adjunct Lecturer of ESLFACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENTThe Bronx Educational Opportunity Center, hosted by Bronx Community College, is seeking to hire an Adjunct Lecturer primarily to teach ESL courses focusing on academic writing in the spring 2025 semester. Preference will be given to applicants with strong credentials and teaching experience in both TESOL and Academic Literacy. The ability to teach credit-bearing first-year writing courses in a classroom setting serving native and non-native English speakers would be an asset. Performs teaching in the area(s) of expertise; please note that most opportunities will be for in-person teaching, but a background in teaching in online modalities is also expected. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.Educational Opportunity Centers (EOC) provide academic instruction, vocational training, and support to educationally and economically disadvantaged adults. EOC Lecturers perform teaching and related faculty functions in area(s) of expertise, including student advisement, curriculum development, and activities to advance the Centers' educational goals.QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree in area(s) of expertise, and the ability to teach successfully.Preferred Qualification : Master's degree in TESOL, Applied Linguistics, Language and Literacy, English, Composition and Rhetoric, or a related field is required, as is the ability to teach successfully in various instructional modalities.COMPENSATIONSalary commensurate with experience and qualifications.
