The Influence1 Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, was organized exclusively for purposes to include educational management, community engagement and economic development. Initiated as a philanthropic measure of its founder, Influence1 has grown to serve the local community in multiple capacities with varying programs geared for community and youth enrichment.

In addition to its charter schools, City University School of Liberal Arts, City University School Girls Preparatory, and City University School of Independence, Influence1 is also responsible for the 38106 Joint Agency Collaborative, 1Urban Gallery, and the Memphis Starts With Me© community program.


City University Schools

City University Schools is a network of open-enrollment college preparatory schools established under Tennessee charter school laws in under-resourced communities throughout the state. Since its founding in 2004, City University Schools strives to meet the need of public education as well as the demand for alternative institutions committed to post-secondary preparation.

Each school operates on the principles of providing a valuable, well-rounded academic experience through the support of a diverse and dedicated group of qualified educators and administrative staff, an extended school year and rigorous college preparatory curriculum.

Mission

City University Schools will prepare its students with the necessary skills to be twenty-first century scholars and citizens. As college preparatory schools operating as Centers of Excellence for Student Development, City University Schools will provide academically rigorous and socially enriching educational opportunities for its scholars. Upon graduation, these scholars will be better prepared to enter secondary education and college as intellectually sophisticated citizens with vigor for learning.


Position Title:

Response to Intervention Specialist – Behavioral Intervention and Data Reporting


Job Qualification:

Must possess and maintain proper certification. Preferred certification in 6th-12th teaching endorsement or counseling.


Job Responsibility:
The RTI-BIDR is responsible for providing professional development, coaching, and data tracking of social emotional learning programming for all schools; full implementation of behavior plans and oversight of the Early Warning System for the School of Liberal Arts and the School of Independence. The RTI-BIDR will also act as a liaison between the schools and students who are engaging their academic coursework via distance learning. The specialist will conduct data meetings bi-weekly and prepare reports for academics and behavior for the Operations Score Card.

To help develop scholars who possess strong self-regulation and self-advocacy skills. Strengthen the home-to-school connection between City University Schools and families it serves


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Supports and monitors all schools’ implementation of social-emotional supports
  • Oversees schools’ and classroom level data collection and progress monitoring for behavior
  • Utilizes understanding of how to select and analyze data related to individual scholars, groups of scholars and classrooms to positively impact scholars’ achievement and behavior.
  • Engages and involves parents in the academic and behavioral intervention process and ensures effective communication is provided
  • Support the RTI Academic Specialist in the collection of data

Performance Responsibilities:

Collaborative:

  • Conduct small flexible groups to reinforce skills.
  • Provide modeled/mini-lessons for Professors requesting support.
  • Circulate room and assist scholars as needed
  • Provide individualized instruction/support as needed for social-emotional needs

Assessment:

  • Monitor all scholars receiving Tier II and Tier III behavioral intervention regularly with assessments
  • Assist with the administration of assessments as requested by classroom Professors and/ or the Administrators whether or not scholars are identified.
  • Be able to implement and analyze scores and other forms of data.
  • Identify remedial scholars through test data and set appropriate goals for them.
  • Share strategies with Professors to improve scholars tests scores.
  • Communicate scholars information to Professors in a concise and timely manner.
  • Consult frequently with classroom Professors on matters relating to social-emotional learning, using our progress-monitoring instrument as a base.
  • Assist in the evaluation of on-going programs and make recommendations for change.
  • Assist professors and other administrators and/or supervisors in implementing the school reading program. (iReady) and (Edgenuity)
  • Help Professors diagnose deficits in scholars’ self-regulation and match skills with appropriate techniques and materials.
  • Keep parents informed as to the purposes and progress of our intervention program.
  • Communicate with families and scholars who are engaged in instruction via distance learning to ensure attendance and academic needs are supported
  • Work with the classroom Professor to monitor scholars’ progress.
  • Oversee online benchmark assessments as needed
  • Perform other responsibilities as may, from time to time, be assigned by the supervisor.

Terms of Employment

This is an eleven-month position. All contractual information shall be outlined in the contract between the Campus President and the City University Schools Board of Trustees.
