What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electrical Technician Trainee - Water Utilities position at cityofarlington?
JOB SUMMARY:
Under supervision, assists in the performance of corrective, preventive, and predictive
maintenance on the electrical
components, PLCs, and instrumentation in the water and wastewater systems.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Learn about and apply maintenance of water treatment processes and equipment, safety, regulatory requirements, and general electrical/instrument maintenance procedures.
- Participate in the performance of corrective, preventive, and predictive maintenance of the electrical components and instrumentation using a computerized maintenance management system at facilities including but not limited to:
* Water treatment plants
* Elevated storage tanks
* Pump stations
* Lift station equipment, including complex, specialized and/or high voltage (4160) systems and equipment.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Learn and participate in security checks of department facilities, equipment, and work activities at locations including but not limited to: Water treatment plants, Elevated storage tanks, Lift stations, Pump stations and Lake Arlington Dam.
- Respond to customer requests and assist in conducting special projects and studies for management as requested.
- Perform general maintenance activities.
- Available for the on-call rotation which entails twenty-four/seven (24/7) emergency call-out.
Inclement weather conditions may require additional support and operational readiness. Considered Essential Personnel during emergency or advisory conditions and will be required to report for duty, if called.
