JOB SUMMARY: Under general supervision, performs various data entry tasks related to library collection maintenance, answers basic patron inquires; and repairs damaged books and audiovisual materials.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
• Perform various data entry tasks relating to collection maintenance, such as discharge of returned materials, item record maintenance related to new items and withdrawn items, and entry of item records for new paperbacks.
• Perform basic stacks maintenance tasks, including but not limited to shelving of returned and new items; searches for lost, missing or overdue items; retrieval and processing of hold requests, and verifying the accuracy of shelving.
• Answer basic patron queries relating to the status of items and directing requests for reference/research information to customer service staff.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS
• Operate city vehicles in the completion of scheduled routes and special deliveries throughout the library system as well as neighboring cities as needed.
• Repair damaged books and audiovisual material.
• Assist with Curbside preparation and delivery of library materials.
• Support and interact with volunteers.
