Job Summary:
The Project Engineer plays a critical support role in the planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects. Working closely with the Project Manager and Superintendent, the Project Engineer helps ensure that projects run smoothly and efficiently, with responsibilities spanning submittals, RFIs, document control, and progress tracking.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Project Manager in coordinating day-to-day project operations
- Prepare, track, and manage RFIs, submittals, and change orders
- Maintain organized and up-to-date project documentation and logs
- Support field operations by coordinating with subcontractors and suppliers
- Review plans, specifications, and drawings for accuracy and constructability
- Help develop and maintain project schedules using tools like Primavera, MS Project, or Procore
- Attend project meetings and record minutes and action items
- Assist with procurement and material tracking
- Conduct jobsite visits to ensure work is progressing as planned and document progress
- Communicate effectively with the internal team, clients, consultants, and trade partners
Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field (preferred)
- 0–3 years of experience in commercial or high-rise construction (internship or field experience a plus)
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Familiarity with construction documents and project processes
- Proficient in Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and scheduling software
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
