Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Utility Foreman to join our team. The Utility Foreman will be responsible for overseeing and leading a team of utility workers in the installation, maintenance, and repair of underground utility systems, including water, storm drains, and sewer. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in utility operations, and a proven ability to lead teams and upholding safety standards.
Duties
- Conduct quality control inspections to ensure work meets specifications
- Monitor project progress and make adjustments as needed
- Resolve any issues or conflicts that arise during construction
- Lead a team of utility workers; assigning tasks and ensuring work is completed
efficiently and safely.
- Train and coach team members on proper techniques, safety protocol, and
equipment operation.
- Plan, organize, and direct the daily work schedules to meet project deadlines and
operational needs.
- Coordinate with project managers and supervisors to ensure resources are allocated
appropriately.
- Perform hands-on work in utility system installation, maintenance and repair as
needed.
- Enforce compliance with safety regulations and company policies to maintain a
secure and safe work environment.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and hours worked.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certification is a
plus.
- Proven experience (3 years) in a similar role in the construction industry
- Prior experience in a lead or supervisory role.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with a diverse team
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make decisions under pressure
- Experience in reading and understanding plans.
Physical Demands to successfully perform the essential duties of this job include:
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
- Bending, twisting, stretching, pushing /pulling, walking, standing, reaching.
- Exposure to outside and inclement weather
