Duties Description The Testing Services Division is responsible for the development, administration, scoring and validation of the examinations provided to the public for State agencies and local jurisdictions. To better serve New Yorkers and make examinations more accessible and convenient for all, the Department is implementing a new examination model known as continuous recruitment testing that will offer testing on a continuous basis with examinations held via a hybrid of online training and experience exams, multiple-choice exams via remote proctoring (online), and in state operated computer-based testing centers and this position will help play an important role in ensuring the success of this new approach to examinations. The Office Assistant 2 duties in Testing Services Division will include but are not limited to the following: • Responding to requests for Reasonable Accommodations and Alternate Test Date arrangements, compiling a list of pre-rating review candidates, as well as alternate test date candidates to be sent to the review sites, and coordinating them with the Shipping Unit and making special test arrangements for candidates who file for exams in multiple jurisdictions and amend the appropriate reports accordingly.• Interacting with others, including Department staff, Test Center Supervisors, monitors who administer tests across the State, candidates, and members of the public, through phone calls and emails which are time sensitive including availability of monitors on examination dates and assigning candidates to test centers, following up and responding to emails and calls from candidates, monitors, Test Center Supervisors and Assistant Supervisors.• Ensuring the completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of a wide variety of work transactions, processes, and reports.
