What are the responsibilities and job description for the Business Development Associate position at Civilitude?
As the Business Development Associate, you will play a vital role in supporting our business development efforts. You’ll work closely with the Business Development team to ensure seamless sales operations and strategic growth, handling everything from scheduling meetings to helping with proposals to networking. You’ll have the opportunity to grow your business-development skills by attending events, joining business development meetings, and honing your skills in sales and relationship building.
Responsibilities:
- Administrative Support: Schedule meetings, manage calendars, and organize files for the business development team.
- CRM Management: Accurately input and maintain client and prospect data within our CRM system. Attend pipeline meetings and answer pipeline status.
- Proposal Assistance: Assist in drafting, editing, and organizing client proposals.
- Marketing Support: support BD Manager on working with marketing as needed
- Outreach Activities: Support cold calling and emailing efforts, helping to craft messaging and grow confidence in client outreach.
- Event Preparation: Help identify, organize, and prepare for networking events, conferences, and client meetings.
- Networking: support the growth and reach of Civilitude by identifying and attending networking events, as approved by BD Manager
- Project Manage: Ability to project manage deals from start to finish, including “herding cats”, setting reminders, and generally ensuring all tasks are completed on time and up to Civilitude standards
- Learning & Growth: Take on stretch assignments to build your skills and gain hands-on experience in business development.
- Show eagerness to learn and initiative to relentlessly find the right solutions
- Grow in project management skills - showing the ability to pull together the right
- Have a can-do attitude
- Drive internal communications regarding next-steps in sales cycle
- Data Support: learn and grow in data entry and analysis skills, learning how data drives decision making

Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in office suite products (Google Workspace or Microsoft Office); CRM systems, and Project Management tools.
- Demonstrated interest in civil engineering and business development.
- Ability to work well in a collaborative team environment.
- A proactive attitude and eagerness to learn in both engineering and business contexts.
- Willingness to travel for client meetings and project evaluations as necessary.
