Summary of Position:
This position is responsible for the full daily operation and maintenance of assigned oil and gas compressor equipment, including the identification of problems or potential problems; documentation and reporting; and the repair, or assistance in the repair of equipment. Requires two years’ related experience in oil & gas or related petrochemical industries.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Perform major mechanical maintenance and overhauls of equipment under minimal supervision.
- Verify dimensions, specifications, and tolerances using blueprints.
- Prepare documentation and compression, production reports on a periodic basis with minimal supervision.
- Perform basic to intermediate level pumping skills which will include but not limited to tank gauging, the proper operation of 3 phase gas separators, line heaters, and all attendant valve and oil seals and seal records.
- Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, repair (or assist in the repair), of equipment with minimal supervision.
- Work in all weather conditions including rain, snow, mud, etc. – work is performed in hazardous driving and working conditions all seasons of the year.
- Operate a vehicle safely in all weather conditions to drive to oil and gas equipment located in rural/open range country.
- Follow safe operating practices and ensure compliance with CIVI Environment, Safety & Regulatory requirements.
- Assure all work performed adheres to CIVI standards.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Knowledge/Skills/Competencies
- Ability to work independently and effectively with a diverse group.
- Basic computer skills (e.g., e-mail, Word, Excel).
- Demonstrate knowledge of safe work behavior and habits.
- Ability to walk along open range/country, dirt roads, inclines/declines, etc. to reach equipment and climb in/out of ditches.
- Ability to lift 80 lbs. and maneuver heavy objects and operate machinery.
- Proven ability to multi-task and meet stringent deadlines with a positive and helpful “can-do” attitude.
- Ability to work independently and effectively with a diverse group.
- Work well with all field team members along with all office support needs.
- Ability and willingness to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
Education & Experience:
- Trade School Graduate preferred.
- 3 years related in oil and gas, specifically with time spent in operational mechanics.
- Strong mechanical ability and demonstrated ability to repair pumps, compressors, and motors.
- Knowledge of basic gas processing equipment and compression-related issues.
- Ability to read blueprints.
- Ability to repair equipment, as needed, and read equipment gauges on large scale compressor station equipment.
Travel & Additional Requirements:
- Travel is required to the Civitas field locations.
- Work Location: Work is performed at a CIVI location Tuesday through Thursday, with the option to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays as business needs allow and with manager approval.
- Schedule: Traditional 40-hour workweek or an alternative schedule of 9-hour workdays Monday through Thursday and 4-hour workdays on Friday, as business needs allow and with manager approval.
